Perfect with hot sambar and coconut chutney. ## ๐Ÿ“ Ingredients * 3 glasses Urad Dal * 1 glass Moong Dal * Salt (to taste) * 1 medium Onion (finely chopped) * Oil (for deep frying) **Optional:** * Finely chopped **Cothambir (Coriander Leaves)** ## ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿณ Steps 1. Wash **3 glasses of urad dal** and **1 glass of moong dal** thoroughly. 2. Soak both dals together in plenty of water for **8โ€“9 hours**. 3. Drain all the water completely. 4. Grind the soaked dals using **very little water** to make a **thick and fluffy batter**. 5. Beat the batter well with your hand for **4โ€“5 minutes** to make it light and airy. 6. Drop a small portion of the batter into a bowl of water. If it **floats**, the batter is perfect for making Medu Vada. 7. Add **finely chopped onion** and **salt to taste**. *(You can also add finely chopped Cothambir (coriander leaves) if you like.)* 8. Mix everything gently without making the batter thin. 9. Wet your hand with water, take a portion of batter, shape it into a round Medu Vada with a hole in the center. 10. Deep fry on **medium heat** until both sides become crispy and golden brown. 11.
