Editor's note

This weekend meal-prep strategy for batch-freezing high-protein (37g), high-fibre (14g) daal blocks is gaining traction on social media as a time-saving solution for busy weekdays. For professional kitchens, the concept of standardizing mise-en-place components and offering flexible protein pairings (chicken, tofu, prawns) could streamline mise-en-place workflows and menu customization.

Then, when I need a quick dinner, I just reheat a block and add a protein source like chicken thighs, air-fried tofu or prawns.
