Instead of making an apple pie, make these! 🍎Today I'm showing you how to take a few apples and turn them into something your whole family will love! These Italian apple fritters, known as Frittelle di Mele, are the kind of homestyle recipe you'll find in Italian kitchens when apples are in season. They're golden on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, and coated in cinnamon sugar. With just three apples and a few simple ingredients you probably already have at home, you can make a whole batch! So if you're looking for an easy dessert, this is one you'll want to make! INGREDIENTS: 3 Golden Delicious apples, peeled 300g (2 and 1/4 cups) 00 flour 90g (1/2 cup) granulated sugar 3 large eggs 100g (1/2 cup) whole milk 10g (2 tsp) baking powder 1 lemon, juiced Pinch of salt Sunflower or peanut oil, for frying For the coating: Granulated sugar Ground cinnamon INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Peel and grate the apples directly into a large bowl using a box grater, avoiding the cores. 2. Add the lemon juice, sugar, eggs, and milk. Mix until everything is well combined. 3. Add the flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Mix until you have a thick batter. If needed, adjust with a little extra flour or milk to get the right consistency. 4. Allow the batter to rest for 10 minutes while you heat the frying oil. 5. Using a spoon, drop portions of the batter into the hot oil. Fry in batches, turning frequently until golden brown and cooked through. 6. Remove the fritters from the oil and allow any excess oil to drain. While still warm, toss them in a bowl of granulated sugar and cinnamon until evenly coated.
