Can you cook American Wagyu steak sous vide using an Instant Pot? That's exactly what I'm trying for the first time with two thick American Wagyu strip steaks. I'm using the sous vide setting on my Instant Pot, vacuum sealing the steaks with a FoodSaver, cooking them at 140°F, and finishing them with a hot cast iron sear. I'll show you how I prep and season the steaks, vacuum seal them for sous vide cooking, and make crispy-skinned baked potatoes while the steaks cook. After about 3½ hours in the water bath, the steaks are dried thoroughly and seared in cast iron for about 45–60 seconds per side to create that traditional steak crust. This was my first-ever attempt at sous vide steak, and I picked some pretty expensive American Wagyu to experiment with! Did the Instant Pot actually cook these thick steaks to medium without ruining them? The cut at the end tells the story. #SousVide #AmericanWagyu #WagyuSteak #InstantPot #SteakDinner #CastIronSteak #HomeCooking #RyanParkerStudios CHAPTER LIST 0:00 - My First Sous Vide Steak 1:06 - American Wagyu Strip Steaks 1:47 - Sous Vide Cooking Plan 2:36 - Trimming the Wagyu Steaks 3:10 - Seasoning the Steaks 4:25 - Vacuum Sealing for Sous Vide 5:08 - Steaks Ready for the Water Bath 5:25 - Instant Pot Sous Vide at 140°F 6:00 - Making Crispy Baked Potatoes 8:13 - American Wagyu After 3½ Hours Sous Vide 9:01 - Preparing the Steaks for Searing 10:02 - Checking the Steak Temperature 10:59 - Why the Steak Needs to Be Dry 11:26 - Heating the Cast Iron Skillet 11:57 - Searing the Sous Vide Steaks 12:49 - Steak and Baked Potato Plating 13:06 - Cutting Into the American Wagyu 13:32 - Did We Hit Medium? 13:42 - Final Thoughts Support Ryan Parker Studios Ryan Parker Studios is all about cooking, BBQ & smoking, homemade recipes, bread machine recipes, homemade ice cream, aquarium livestreams, cichlid fish keeping, and sharing fun projects from the studio.
